The rooms are remodeled ...

The rooms are remodeled and clean, the parking situation is not good Most rooms are on the second floor

If you're staying here ...

If you're staying here you should manage your expectations: you aren't paying much, and what you get reflects that. Staff are courteous and quick, so no issues there. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable. WiFi was fast; I was able to do a video call with no issues. The hotel is a short, pleasant walk to good restaurants. But at least in my room the walls were paper thin, and on both nights of my stay I could hear a baby crying, along with the mother's attempts to calm the baby. My room had no coffee maker, though other reviews indicate they're normally included. The shower was hot, but only half the shower head's nozzles worked. The door jamb looked damaged. I've had worse hotel stays, but I think next time I'm in Monterey I think I'll pay a bit more to stay elsewhere

Nice that it was ...

Nice that it was recently renovated, however parking is the absolute worst & difficult to get in and out of the hotel lot. As usual price was a good 20% higher than it should have been for the accommodations & since the breakfast didn't start until 7am we weren't able to try it. Hard to say if we'd ever come back. Definitely a last resort
