Downtown Monterey Hotel Reviews

Stayed here for our coastal hwy trip to Oregon. The room was very clean, beds are comfortable, service was friendly and on point, and we were close to downtown. Would stay here again!

A hidden gem this one. We needed a 1 night stay over in the area to break up the Highway 1 Roadtrip. Searched for ages as the prices are very high in the area. Against my better judgement I chose a chain basic alternative and just hoped it would be ok. I needn't have worried. This place is punching way above its expectations. The hotel exterior looks a bit dated but has very well kept grounds. Loads of free parking. Check in was swift and easy. You dont see much of the staff in places like this but he was quick and professional which is all you need after a long drive. Best part was the room. It was a 2 queen sea view. It was massive and must have been recently refurbished. It was immaculate and super clean and fresh smelling. Beds were also high quality and very comfy and fresh. Sea view from 2nd floor room was nice. It's in the distance but you can see the harbour area just about. Great system with the windows which opened on a crank with bug screens in place which meant we didn't need the AC at all and just had lovely fresh air. Only slight downside which isn't the hotels fault is the seagulls and seals in the distance start there day at 3am and are quite noisy. Still it will be the first time I've lost a little bit of sleep due to a seal honking!

I came to Days Inn with my best friend to visit Monterey / Carmel / Big Sur and this was the best place to stay. I like how it wasn't loud because it's away from the main road. Housekeeping is really attentive and friendly. One thing that could be improved is having lids on the trash cans because birds would come and dig through the trash cans so it would create a mess. Other than that, this was a great place to stay! I highly recommend it. ⭐️ also you can tip your housekeeper online which was great because we don't carry cash around

We had a wonderful 1-night stay. The front desk manager Arjun was extremely welcoming and efficient. Our room was spacious, spotless, and had a remarkably comfortable bed. We especially appreciated the hotel's convenient location, which is just a 10-minute walk from major landmarks, as well as the excellent coffee station at hotel. We highly recommend for a relaxing and memorable stay.
