Downtown Monterey Hotel Reviews

Nice little spot. Parking is tight and the price can be high but it’s a good location

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised with the quality of this days inn. I was concerned at first, since it was significantly cheaper than all of the higher end hotels. Luckily though, when we entered our room it was very well cleaned and even smelled nice. The beds were extremely comfy and the room also had great airflow with easy to use thermostat. Only downside was the showers water pressure, not the best but also not the worst. We were also woken up from the people above us heavily walking around and laughing at 12am one of the nights. If you get an 2nd floor room though, this issue wouldn’t be the case. Overall, it was perfect for what we needed and conveniently close to downtown. I would highly recommend if you’re looking for a basic nice room on a budget.

We always drove by Monterey but never stayed, so we found this hotel, the Days Inn by Wyndham, 2 stories hotel, on a busy street and it was very affordable. Very close to Downtown and the Fisherman’s Warf in about 6 minutes walk. So the hotel’s office very cozy and staff is so friendly. It feels that the venue was renovated recently. There’s a coffee and various cold drinks vending machine for free of charge, access to the machine is free 8 am - 10 pm, I think that was cool. So we asked if we could stay on the second floor, knowing that if we stayed on the first floor possibility of someone keeping you all night from above, so we are on the second level room, however I would like to mention that you can still hear conversations or furniture move or even drawers opening, the walls are not that sound proof. The floors in a room are hardwood floors, only one office chair, once again the hotel was recently renovated. The mattress is okay, little bit firmer, but it depends on a person’s preference. Pillows don’t stay in their shape and very soft. The shower head is not retractable, the bathroom doesn’t have a sink, but the sink is located outside of the bathroom, but within the room. Water is loud and instant hot water is flowing, I think it’s good, however make sure if you have kids, supervise them. Nice a small closet and large mirror glass on the wall. Overall it is very great location to many amenities, big room, but soundproofing is not that much.

Nice, clean, and spacious rooms. It’s a bit far to the Monterey Aquarium, but Fisherman’s Wharf is within walking distance. Fridge and microwave available. The only issue with Wifi internet connection is very unstable
