East Village Coffee Lounge and Kiki Wow present BanjerDan on Saturday, March 7, 7pm-9pm.
BanjerDan, a.k.a. Dan Mazer, is a banjo player and multi-instrumentalist based in Santa Margarita, California. His music is an Americana mix, rooted in straight-ahead bluegrass and branching out to include folk, country, blues, oldies, and other styles. He started playing Scruggs-style banjo in 1974, and earned a B.A. in Music Theory in 1984.
The banjo has taken him all over the U.S. and overseas, as a solo artist, as a member of bands, and in theatrical productions and orchestras, in venues ranging from street corner busking to bar/coffeehouse gigs, children's shows, music festivals, Opryland, and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
